About the author

  1. Audience was a terrific band from the end of the sixties genre (early seventies). House on the Hill and Lunch are some of the greatest albums from this period. Audience was somewhat like Jethro Tull, but very unique in their sound. Both albums contain great music and lyrics/5(17).

  5. This record is an interesting one, and if you need some prog on the cheap, then this is a great one to get. I passed on it several times before coming across it recently and finally picking it up, dismissing it as the usual mid's classic rock, but actually the cover art (high concept by Hipgnosis) betrays the musical invention of the band, whose brand of art/prog rock can't really be.

  7. out of 5 stars House on the Hill by Audience. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 4, 'Raviole' is lovely, acoustic guitar and strings, and makes a nice break in the album. After years of playing my vinyl lp, I bought the cd and wasn't disappointed in the quality. This album and Lunch will delight you. As well as the /5().
  8. The House on the Hill is Audience's strongest effort, made up of simple, elegantly arranged songs, focusing around Howard Werth's "electric classical" guitar and Keith Gemmel's tenor sax and clarinet. "Jackdaw" has Werth showing off his vocal range by hollering out the chorus in full force. "Raviole" is an instrumental piece painted with lovely acoustic guitar and is one of the real gems on.
